Bassist, composer, producer Joan Torres has led the Jazz Fusion ensemble All Is Fused since 2011. With five albums released to date, multiple awards and nominations, as well as features in major publications such as The Huffington Post, the ensemble has been described as going "far beyond complex musical ideas managing to weave in a true sonic narrative" in their music (Music News 2016). Throughout several releases they have appealed to genre and non-genre fans alike.

Torres got the group together to record their first album, titled Before, on January 10 and 11, 2012 at Playbach Studio in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The album features guitarist Sergio González, pianist David Ojeda, drummer Fernando García, alto saxophonist Jonathan Suazo and guitarist Gabriel Vicéns. The album was released May 21, 2012. Before was received well by critics which earned new opportunities for both Torres and the ensemble. Shortly thereafter, Emanual Rivera joined the group as the primary pianist. In February 2013, All Is Fused performed music from the album Before at a Jazz forum for the community of the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory. Having acquired a following in the Puerto Rico area, they decided to look ahead to the future and invest energy on getting the music beyond the island and into the world.

Managing to reach an international audience and even gaining them their first two nominations in the Annual Independent Music Awards (IMA) in 2013, the group went on tour through the New Orleans, Louisiana area in November 2013.

They recorded and released their second album, The Beginning, in 2014. They also launched a successful crowdfunding campaign, and performed in one of Puerto Rico's “Ventana al Jazz” Festivals on April 27th.

By 2015, their music was featured in a variety of review publications including The Huffington Post. Furthermore, The Beginning earned a nomination in the 14th Annual Independent Music Awards (the group's third IMA nomination), ultimately winning the Vox Pop award in the Fusion Album category in 2016.

For their third and fourth albums they recorded at the historic and influential Different Fur Studios in San Francisco, California with engineer Sean Paulson. Grammy winner Dave Darlington mixed and mastered both albums.

On June 24, 2016 they debuted music from their third album, Of the Musical, at The Center SF in San Francisco, California. They recorded this album between June 27 and 29 and released it November 21, 2016. It was received well by critics as well as fans, earning 3 nominations at the IMA’s including Jazz Producer, Best Fusion Album, and Best Fusion Song for the track Demiurge.

Music for their fourth release, REVOLUTION, debuted at the SFJAZZ Center and was recorded in August 2018. The album features several special guests including trumpet player Julius Meléndez and percussionist Paoli Mejías. The album released April 21, 2019 to critical acclaim earning 4 IMA nominations and ultimately winning the Best Fusion Album award on April 28, 2020.

After receiving an artist grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission, All Is Fused worked remotely through the COVID pandemic on their fifth album, Embrace Form. They traveled to Cotati, California to record at Prairie Sun Recording Studios. Embrace Form released January 21, 2023

Born and raised in Puerto Rico (July 8th 1989), Jonathan became interested in the music very early in life. His father was a Graphic Designer/Saxophonist who always had a great love for the arts. His father's passion influenced Jonathan from a young age as he grew interested in photography, paintings and of course, music.

He picked up his dad's instrument at the age of 12, right before beginning his studies at the "Escuela Libre de Música Ernesto Ramos Antonini" in San Juan, from where he graduated with a growing interest for Jazz. He then went along to form part of the Jazz department at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico where he started to dig into the music on a much more serious level; he graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) in May (2012) thanks to the teachings and guidance of great teachers like: Marco Pignataro, Rafael "el Indio" Martinez, Ricardo Pons, and Mariano Morales.

In 2016 Jonathan was awarded a full-tuition scholarship to obtain his master’s degree in contemporary performance at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (Boston, MA) led by Panamanian Jazz Legend Danilo Pérez. During his time there he had the blessing of being mentored by amazing artists such as Terri Lyne Carrington, Joe Lovano, John Patitucci, Marco Pignataro, Dave Liebman, Alan Pascua, and many others. Jonathan graduated -Magna Cum Laude- in the summer of 2017.

Jonathan has been composing original music and performing since the early 2000's. He’s released two self-produced albums under his name and has had the immense pleasure of collaborating with some of his favorite musicians including: Paoli Mejias, Jon Secada, Eddie Gomez, Ileana Cabra, Terri Lyne Carrington, Miguel Zenón, David Sánchez, Charlie Sepulveda, Calma Carmona, Edsel Gomez, William Cepeda, Tito Matos, Ricardo Pons, Eric Figueroa, Giovanni Hidalgo, Alex Sipiagin, Humberto Ramirez, Ramon Vazquez, Aldemar Valentín, Alex Alvear, Velcro, Luis Aquino, and many others. The music he writes and performs with his group S.U.A.Z is often described as “emotional and diverse". He’s constantly trying to blur stylistic boundaries by embracing sounds from many different genres and cultures.

In 2012, he completed his first solo album, Point In Time, featuring jazz legend Eddie Gómez, who describes Vicéns as "a creative musician that displays a new vision on the guitar," and was critically acclaimed in multiple international magazines.

Vicéns has recorded and performed with renowned musicians such as David Sánchez, Alex Sipiagin and Miguel Zenón, and played at important venues and festivals including Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Fest, Cornelia Street Cafe, Fat Cat, The Cell Theatre and Birdland. He is known as a top sideman guitarist in the jazz scene, often playing with groups like Jonathan Suazo Quintet, Fernando García Sextet and Henry Cole & Villa Locura.

From 2012 to 2015, Vicéns became a Professor in the Guitar Department at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. "Days," his second album, was released in 2015 under Inner Circle Music. Vicéns moved to New York City in 2016, earning his Master's in Jazz Performance from Queens College. Between traveling worldwide to Italy, Cuba and beyond to play in different projects, Vicéns is often found performing with his sextet in NYC, blending the folklore music from the Caribbean with jazz and other genres. Vicéns current focus is on various Afro-Caribbean folklore styles, with an intention of giving exposure to lesser known genres such as Changüí, Gwoka, Tambú, Bélé, Vodou and Tumba Francesa. Vicéns just released a new single with Outside In Music, anticipating the release of his third album.

Ever since he borrowed an old nylon guitar from a neighborhood friend, Sergio Gonzalez hasn't been the same. At age 13, he started studying the instrument and learning songs by ear, and quickly acquired his first nylon and electric guitars. In 2006, during his senior year playing for the Colegio San Jose high school jazz band he received an outstanding soloist award at the Disney and Universal Studios school band and choir competitions. After high school, he studied Music Industry Studies with a minor in General Business in Loyola University New Orleans.

While in New Orleans from 2006 to 2011, Sergio studied with guitar greats like Brian Seeger and John Rankin. In addition, the city's rich cultural and musical heritage nurtured his influences. After college, he returned to Puerto Rico where he started working with Joan Torres in what would become All Is Fused. He's also collaborated with local songwriters, producers and groups like Sol Carbone, Patricia Lewis, Ella (Liz Roman and Tommy Gonzalez), Tito Auger, Mikie Rivera, Walter Morciglio, Xino Carrasco, Kaydean Phillips, Nutopia, Fofe y los Fetiches, Christopher Alexander, Alegría Rampante, Mr. Peligro, The Difficult, Epilogio, Habish, StoneTape, among others. Later, in 2014, he formed the indie-rock band S U R G E.

Sergio’s inspiration for the Surge sound comes from a wide array of artists ranging from classic tunesmiths like the Beatles & Gustavo Cerati, to the the poignant melodies of Jose Gonzalez and Grizzly Bear, and the angular riffs of The Strokes, Interpol, and Explosions in the Sky. His music effortlessly captures a translucent, thoughtful, and beautiful sound that contrasts with a surprisingly dark melancholia present in both studio recordings and live performances.

Sergio is currently living in New Orleans, LA writing and developing future projects in rock and jazz.

Joan Torres was drawn to music from an early age. After choosing the bass as his main instrument he diligently worked to understand the art form and its many flavors. He studied Jazz with a list of great musicians such as Puerto Rican legend Tony Batista (William Cepeda), the four time Grammy-winning bassist and educator Oscar Stagnaro (Paquito D'Rivera), and Matthew Garrison (Joe Zawinul), considered one of the most technically gifted jazz musicians of his generation. Torres’s skill was recognized by musical institutions such as Berklee College of Music which awarded him several scholarships to attend both its summer programs and the college as a full-time student. He developed his musicianship by studying and performing a wide variety of music including Salsa, Rock, Reggae, Latin Jazz, Funk, Fusion, Jazz, Classical Choir music and even Brazilian Capoeira music.

After years of playing and sharing with other musicians, Torres decided to revisit some of the music he had written over the years to start his own project, Joan Torres's All Is Fused. While composing, producing, and leading the ensemble from 2011 to the present day, Torres has consistently pursued opportunities to collaborate with like-minded artists of different genres and skill levels.

Torres performed with well-known Puerto Rican singer-songwriters Fana and Rique Colón. He also contributed to SURGE, an Indie Rock band led by All Is Fused member Sergio González. Additionally, he has taken time to provide musical education. Alongside drummer Fernando Garcia they presented drum and bass clinics at the music academy where they met. Torres was also invited with his group to present his approach to Jazz at a Jazz Forum at the University of Puerto Rico conservatory.

Torres relocated to San Francisco in 2014 in search for different opportunities and to expand his musical depth. He has collaborated with many artists in the local Latin, Jazz, and Rock scenes including Eduardo Corzo, Julius Melendez, Calvin Keys, LOUDA, Piwai, and 6 Speed Supernova. In keeping with his interests to collaborate and build a community, Torres also started a project called the Barely Jazz Ensemble with the main goal of providing a space for musicians and music lovers to jam, taking a traditional standards approach to contemporary music selections, and welcoming anyone to the stage to experience collaboration with the support of fellow musicians. With a motto of “all genres welcome, and all skill levels welcome” the ensemble developed a community built on their shared love of music. Torres along with the Barely Jazz Ensemble recently shared the stage with Michael Manring, a revolutionary musician whose work on the bass has influenced many including Torres himself.

Through his work with All Is Fused, Torres has earned two nominations for Best Jazz Producer at the Independent Music Awards, the group itself having earned ten nominations throughout the years and two wins, including most recently Best Fusion Album in 2020. All Is Fused has performed in one of Puerto Rico's biggest festivals, “Ventana al Jazz” (2014), at venues such as the SFJAZZ Center (2018), shared the stage with performers such as Michael Manring, Felix Martin, Richard Trinidad, The Wrong Sides and have collaborated with artists such as Paoli Mejias, Bubby Lewis, and Elena Hedrych.

Torres began collaborating with Venezuelan, two-handed tapping marvel Felix Martin in 2020. Torres has performed as part of Martin's trio in the Caribbean, South America, U.S. and soon in Asia. Torres's bass work is also featured in Martin's singles such as "El Cantante" and his 2024 album The Gathering. Additionally, as an early member of the Martin's FM Guitars, Torres contributed to the development of their first bass guitar, becoming the first bassist to use dual-fretboard basses.
